NITECH magazine celebrates 10 years of NCI Agency support to NATO

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) has released a special anniversary edition of its NATO Innovation and Technology (NITECH) magazine.

This issue celebrates and recognizes the contributions of the NCI Agency in delivering consistent, essential support to NATO and the Nations since its establishment.

"We are celebrating the first decade of the NCI Agency with this magazine, an issue that means a lot to our staff, and to me as General Manager," NCI Agency General Manager Ludwig Decamps writes in his foreword. "You likely know that the NCI Agency was founded in 2012 as a part of a NATO reform, along with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). We are proud to celebrate this historic milestone with NSPA."

The magazine includes contributions from key NATO officials, such as Supreme Allied Commander Transformation General Philippe Lavigne, who highlights the importance of innovation in the Alliance's ongoing transformation efforts. Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană, explains how NATO and its bodies are addressing an evolving and increasingly-complex security environment. Meanwhile, Stacy Cummings, NSPA's General Manager discusses the critical role the organization has played in supporting NATO's mission in the past decade. In another article, the Secretary General's Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security (WPS), Irene Fellin, highlights some of the key initiatives NATO has put in place since launching the first WPS action plan 10 years ago.

Providing a national perspective, Belgium's Minister of Defence, Ludivine Dedonder, underlines the country's enduring support to both the Agency and NATO as a host nation.

This magazine also features a must-read interview with the NCI Agency's new Chief of Staff, Major General Hans Folmer, on the importance of diversity and inclusion in maintaining and retaining talent, as well as numerous other articles from Agency and industry experts.
