New NATO Military Committee Chair visits NCI Agency

The new Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, visited the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) prior to taking on his new role. 

Admiral Bauer and NATO military representatives were welcomed in May to the NCI Agency's facilities in The Hague, Netherlands. During the Admiral's visit to The Hague, he was briefed by NCI Agency leadership and given a tour of the facilities. The trip was an opportunity to learn more about the NCI Agency and get up to speed on the Agency's work before taking up the post.

Admiral Bauer mentioned that he was impressed with the breadth and scope of the NCI Agency's work.

Briefings included information on how the NCI Agency supports NATO exercises, operations and crisis response.

NCI Agency Chief of Staff, Major General Göksel Sevindik said: "It was a pleasure to host Admiral Bauer, and brief him on our ongoing work to support NATO's digital transformation."

Admiral Bauer of the Netherlands Armed Forces took up the position following the end of Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach's tenure.

The Chair of the NATO Military Committee is traditionally a former Chief of Defence of a NATO Nation. The position is normally held for a period of three years.

With 28 locations across the Alliance, the NCI Agency acquires, deploys and defends communications and information systems to support NATO, Nations and partners.
