NCIA Chief of Staff participates in the United Kingdom Strategic Command International Day

On 24 April 2024, NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA)'s Chief of Staff Major General Hans Folmer participated in the United Kingdom Strategic Command International Day. The event saw participation from senior level representatives from NATO Member Nations and Partners, NCIA and the Joint Force Command.

The Chief of Staff participated in a roundtable discussion focused on global strategic trends and delivering multi-domain operations (MDO). Major General Folmer outlined the current challenges the Agency and NATO face while transitioning to a MDO approach, and what can we collectively do better to enable. Folmer pointed out areas where NCIA is already working to support MDO through enabling operations and exercises, providing digital solutions and strengthening NATO's overall readiness, resilience and technology adoption.

During the discussion, he highlighted the need for collaboration across the Alliance to achieve MDO and affirmed that "NCIA will continue working towards enhanced interconnectivity across all domains and greater multi-domain situational awareness to achieve MDO and address current and future challenges."

By 2030, NATO's Digital Transformation will facilitate MDO, ensure interoperability, heightened situational awareness and data-driven decision-making. NCIA supports this target via several lines of efforts, notably the Joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Centre's work in accelerating efficient decision-making across the Alliance.
