Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO - Service Level Agreement Signed


On 12 December 2013, the General Manager of the NCI Agency, Mr Koen Gijsbers added his signature to that of Rear Admiral Tim Lowe on the Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO Service Level Agreement for the provision of Information Technology (IT) Services.

Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, located Oeiras Portugal is an organisation consisting of 11 member nations and was represented at the signing ceremony by Colonel Kevin B. Marcus, Chief of Staff, United States Delegation to the NATO Military Committee as a representative of the Framework Nation.

This important agreement will ensure continuity of IT services in support of the Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO important mission to:

  • Provide a rapidly deployable Joint but predominantly Maritime headquarters to plan, command, and control maritime operations across the full spectrum of Alliance Fundamental Security Tasks, including maritime Expanded Task Force operations and Smaller Joint Operations within the Euro-Atlantic region or at strategic reach.
  • Assist in the enhancement of Alliance and Partner nations' maritime capabilities and joint interoperability through training and cooperative action.
  • Contribute effectively to the deterrence of aggression against Alliance members and if deterrence fails, contribute towards the setting of conditions for a favourable outcome of the crisis.
