Allies deployed ships, submarines, aircraft and personnel to the exercise for anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare training on the Mediterranean Sea.
Standing NATO Maritime Group Two also participated in the exercise, in addition to units from Spain, Greece and Turkey.
The Agency's teams provided prompt support that helped the exercise run smoothly without a single interruption to the exercise's communications. Teams from the CSU supported users during the exercise, making sure crew members' requests were taken care of and close contact was maintained with NATO's Maritime Command at all times. The CSU also supported the connectivity among the participating crews and commands during the exercise.
Norbert Sztakovits, Staff Assistant for Plans and Projects, coordinated and supervised the Agency's preparation and support for the exercise.
"I was honoured to have been part of DYMA21, the third Dynamic Manta exercise that I coordinated in a row. It felt professionally satisfying that I could use all of my project management and coordination-related experience and skills in order to provide this exercise with the maximum local support from CSU Sigonella," Sztakovits said.
Exercises such as Dynamic Manta enhance interoperability between NATO Nations and demonstrate Allies' commitment to collective defence.
