The NATO Communications and Information (NCI) Agency is hosting its first virtual industry event, NITEC Connect, on 4-5 November 2020.

More than 1,100 people registered for the event, representing 600 companies and organizations. More than half of the companies and organizations represented are attending a NITEC event for the first time.

"We are committed to engaging with NATO's tech sector during this pandemic and to keep you informed about opportunities that are coming up for competition," said NCI Agency General Manager Kevin J Scheid.

The NCI Agency's flagship industry conference, NITEC, was postponed this year due to COVID-19.

In his opening keynote, Scheid discussed how the Agency has supported NATO during the crisis.

"The NCI Agency has responded with an unprecedented and rapid expansion of digital services," Scheid said. "The demand for secure digital workplace services has exploded and the Agency has led NATO's efforts to meet these challenges."

During the two-day conference, participants will join breakout sessions to learn more about upcoming opportunities to do business with the NCI Agency. Other sessions will take deep dives into Agency initiatives that are advancing NATO's digital transformation, such as the adoption of cloud technologies. One session will also explain the Agency's new framework to work with not-for-profit organizations.

"Digital transformation is not a dream, it is the reality sweeping across NATO and the Alliance today," Scheid said.
