The Agency's representatives briefed the delegates about the Agency's mission, the NATO Cyber Security Centre and discussed with them possibilities for collaboration in cyber defence, including research, training, and participation in key conferences.
"At the technical level, partnerships with tech industry and partners are so important to discuss best practices, exchange information, and develop working relationships. During our visit we exchanged views on a number of technical areas of mutual interest. The visit was a wonderful opportunity for the Agency to strengthen its relationship with Japan in the area of cyber security," said Sarah Brown, Senior Scientist at the NATO Cyber Security Centre.
NATO and Japan have been engaged in dialogue and cooperation since initial contacts in the early 1990s. Japan is one of a number of countries beyond the Euro-Atlantic area – often referred to as "partners across the globe" – with which NATO is developing relations. Practical cooperation is being developed in a wide range of areas, including cyber defence.
