First suppliers on-boarded to NCI Agency's eProcurement Tool Neo

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) has now opened its eProcurement system Neo to its first suppliers.

This marks an important step in the Agency's journey to automate its procurement process. Ultimately, the Neo system will be used for online bidding and contract management.

More than 40 industry partners who had previously opted to partake in initial usage of the system, the "Champion Suppliers," have been invited to register for Neo.

"I am happy to see Neo going live for our industry partners," said Agata Szydelko, Deputy Director of Acquisition at the NCI Agency, and Business Change Manager for Neo. "We are on an important journey to transition Agency procurements to a fully digital platform. The only way to succeed is to work together as one team."

Ensuring success through a phased rollout

The Agency will incrementally on-board users to Neo and gradually expand its use. Such progressive release gives the users time to get acquainted with the system, and the NCI Agency a chance to make adjustments as needed.

After completing their registration form, Champion Suppliers will be on-boarded with instructions on using the Neo iSupplier portal, which gives them access to:

  • Contracts and advanced contract administration;

  • Full visibility on acceptance and payment status;

  • Self-administration of supplier data;

  • Automatic notifications of transactions;

  • And integrated creation of invoices.

At the next stage, the NCI Agency intends to launch the Neo Sourcing module, which will gradually transition the competitions conducted under the Agency's Framework Contracts for Advisory and Assistance Services (AAS) into the Neo eProcurement. Other competitions will be added to the Neo system in a gradual approach.

About our Champion Suppliers

The Champion Suppliers' engagement has been running for nearly two years, and represents one of the key elements of a successful Neo rollout. So far, it has facilitated a valuable dialogue with the industry during the early implementation process and allowed for maximizing added value of the tool for all parties involved.

Champion Suppliers include industry partners who are a part of the Agency's AAS framework contract, and other companies who opted to become Neo Champions at the Agency's industry conference NITEC in 2019.

Note: The Champion Supplier engagement initiative is purely voluntary, without monetary or other compensation, and without additional advantage in bidding and/or contract management process. Participants may choose the extent of their involvement and can opt out at any time. Participation in the initiative does not constitute direct or indirect expressed endorsement by the NCI Agency of the participant or its products or services.
