Agency discusses future of NATO's digital workplace at online conference

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) invited attendees to discuss the future of NATO's digital workplace at an online conference from 5-6 October 2021.

The Agency's first NATO Digital Workplace Conference, which was open to NATO staff members from across the organization, included briefings from NCI Agency experts, as well as perspectives from industry.

"Our aim with the NATO Digital Workplace is to advance NATO's digital consultation and digital collaboration capabilities," said NCI Agency General Manager Ludwig Decamps in his opening address at the conference. "Though borne out of a response to COVID-19, NATO Digital Workplace isn't merely a crisis measure. COVID-19 has forced NATO to accelerate the pace of its digital transformation, and the way the NCI Agency delivers services must change as a result."

Over the two days, NATO staff members learned more about what tools and technology are available to help them collaborate digitally. The conference includes keynote speeches, networking events and geek sessions to learn more about specific tools.

"Digital solutions, once a tool of the future, have rapidly became essential as the world has fought to understand, manage and overcome the catastrophic impact of COVID-19," said Jean-Paul Massart, Chief of the NATO Digital Workplace Programme. "The pandemic has further brought to light the importance of digital technology in NATO."

This event was hosted by the NCI Agency's NATO Digital Workplace (NDW) Programme. Formed in 2020, the NDW is leveraging the latest tools and technology to enable digital collaboration across NATO.
